You have a unique opportunity to hear Michael Fullan speak on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 at the Hotel Fort Garry in Winnipeg!
The Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools is pleased to inform you that the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) has offered our school principals and administrators the opportunity to attend one of their keynote presentations at the upcoming CAIS Heads and Chairs Conference held in Winnipeg.
Michael Fullan is a worldwide expert in Whole System Change in Education and is currently the Global Leadership Director for New Pedagogies for Deep Learning. He partners with educational experts and governments across the globe. New Pedagogies for Deep Learning believes every student deserves to learn deeply and that schools need to take action to allow their students to make a positive impact and grasp opportunities that will lead to success in life. NPDL works alongside educators and governments to change the role of teachers to that of activators of learning who design learning experiences that build on learner strengths and needs, create new knowledge using real-life problem solving and help all students identify their talents, purpose and passion. Michael Fullan received the Order of Canada in December 2012.
Michael Fullan will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday morning, October 17th from 8:15 am to 9:30 am in the Grand Ballroom, 4th Floor of the Fort Garry Hotel Conference Centre. Immediately after the keynote address, you will attend a continuing session in the Concert Hall Room located on the 7th floor of the Hotel Fort Garry, to further debrief and discuss Michael Fullan’s presentation.

If you are familiar with the two part in-services being held around the province, this would be equivalent to the Day 2. The presenters are the two women involved in the provincial in-servicing, Angela Burdett and Marilyn McKay. They will not do individual school presentations, so that’s where you all come in J. Our entire staff will be involved and I have spoken to some folks who are hoping to send a few people along. Please note, you would have to ensure that whatever staff members take part are grounded in the concepts presented on the first day, all the information is located in Maple. Costs will be minimal, we will likely bring in lunch and provide a gift to the presenters. If you are interested or if you have questions, give me a call or pop me an email.
